S:US is looking for experienced Social Workers to join our Homeless Services division
About the Position
The Social Worker at S:US will be working at our Adult Families Shelter in Manhattan in order to provide services to homeless families. You will need to complete psychosocial assessments of complex families that have been impacted by multiple systems in order to assess their needs and facilitate appropriate linkages for the family to community-based services. As a Social Worker, you will interact with the New York City Department of Homeless Services staff, Shelter providers, and relevant community-based organizations to ensure families are receiving optimal care and service coordination. The families that you will be serving are in crisis-driven environment, so you will need a strong knowledge base of substance abuse and addiction, domestic violence, child maltreatment, trauma, and mental health conditions.
About the Homeless Services
S:US is working hard to help prevent homelessness by operating homeless individuals and families, for people living with HIV/AIDS, for individuals with mental health challenges, and for families experiencing domestic violence. We also connect homeless people to medical centers to ensure primary medical care and adherence to treatment. Our Homeless Services include homeless prevention, shelters, outreach services, and transition services.
Salary: $65,000 / year

Requirements
- Master's Degree in Social Work
- Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW) or Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC)
- CPR & First Aid certification
- Able to provide proof of vaccination against COVID-19 virus
- Knowledge of child and adolescent development; emotional/behavioral health; mental health; family dynamics; and diagnostic classification
- Bilingual, preferred
