S:US is looking for experienced Peer Specialists to work with our Behavioral Health Services

About the Position

A Peer Specialist ensures the quality of care for clients living with mental health diagnosis in addition to providing harm reduction outreach and case management services. As the Peer Specialist, you will interact with representatives from Probation and/or Parole in order to encourage consumer compliance with requirements as well as serve as the consumer's advocate when appropriate while encouraging and supporting self-advocacy. Part of your responsibilities will also include developing and facilitating a peer support group in addition to providing referral services through the distribution of materials, information, education, and prevention messages to consumers in their homes and group settings.

Salary: $35,000 - $40,000 / year

Requirements

  • Active pursuit of Certified Recovery Peer Advocate Certification
  • Able to provide proof of vaccination against COVID-19 virus
  • 2 years of active participation in mental health self-help activities, peer support, or peer advocacy programs
  • Certified Peer Recovery Advocate - Provisional, preferred
  • Bilingual, preferred
