S:US is looking for Direct Support Professionals to work with individuals with Intellectual or Developmental Disabilities (IDD)

About the Position

The Direct Support Professional at S:US will work directly with individual with intellectual or developmental disabilities in order to assist them in living their best life in a safe environment. You will work off the client's prescribed service plan in order to assist in skill development in areas such as daily living, domestic living, recreation, and socialization. Upon receiving appropriate training and under supervision, you may be called upon to administer medication to the client when assigned. As the Direct Support Professional, you will also be responsible for identifying and reporting any observed or known deficiencies in the client or your own ability to provide care as well as any types of abuse or facility problems to management. 

About the Residential Services

S:US is working to break down barriers and open new doors to our clients in order to help those with intellectual/developmental disabilities to live in, work in, contribute to, and participate in the community. Our Developmental Disabilities Services are 9 areas of service that provide support to each individual with four main objectives. These are objectives are for the individual to (1) live and receive services in the community of their choice, (2) build and enjoy social connections through productive community participation, (3) deepen relationships with friends, family, and others, and (4) direct their own lives and experience life to their fullest potential. Our programs and services are offered in a manner that is respectful and highly supportive, acknowledge the informed choice of each individual, and are grounded in evidence-based practice. 

Salary: $15.78 / hour

Overtime is eligible

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED
    • Associate's Degree preferred
  • Able to provide proof of vaccination against COVID-19 virus
  • Valid New York State Driver's License
    • Ability to pass insurance criteria
  • 1 year of experience providing direct services to developmentally disabled persons, preferred
  • AMAP, SCIP-R, CPR & First Aid certifications, preferred
