Summary of Benefits
Services for the UnderServed (S:US) offers a wide range of benefits as part of your total compensation package. Choose from top medical and dental insurance programs and plan for your future with tax-deferred investing through S:US retirement options; enjoy generous vacation and sick leave policies; and protect yourself and your family with life and long-term disability insurance. Eligibility
New hires, scheduled to work 30 hours or more each week, become eligible for benefits the 1st of the month following date of hire.
Benefits elections generally become effective on the 1st day of the month after eligibility is met. However, if a qualifying event is incurred, eligibility begins on the day of the qualifying event. Supporting documentation as well as subsequent elections are due within 60 days of the qualifying life event.
Medical
Eligible employees may choose from among two Cigna Medical plan options. Employees are given the broad choice between four enrollment tiers (Employee Only, Employee + Child(ren), Employee + Spouse, and Employee + Family).
The EPO Plan includes an employer-funded HRA which is conveniently facilitated by the Difference Card. The High Plan is a buy-option that provides out-of-network access.
Dental
Eligible employees may choose from among two Cigna Dental plan options. An HMO option allows for employees and their dependents to obtain care from network doctors based on a co-payment schedule depending on the services provided. A PPO option allows for both in- and out-of-network care under an annual maximum.
Vision
Optional Vision coverage is provided through EyeMed.
Flexible Spending Account
Regardless of whether you elect to enroll in an offered medical plan, you have the option to contribute to a tax-exempt health care Flexible Spending Account. The FSA allows you to save money on eligible medical expenses. The 2025 annual max you may contribute is $3,300. FSA Health Care caps the amount you are allowed to rollover to the next plan year at $660.00.
Long Term Disability Insurance
S:US provides employer paid Long Term Disability (LTD) coverage. The benefit provides 60% of salary up to $15,000.00 per month after a 180 days period of elimination.
Life Insurance and Accidental Death and Dismemberment Coverage
After benefits eligibility is met, S:US provides each eligible employee with Basic Life Insurance and Basic Accidental Death and Dismemberment (AD&D) coverage. Eligible employees do not pay a premium for these benefits. The value of the coverage equals 1x the employee’s annual base salary.
Eligible employees have the option to purchase additional coverage through Voluntary Life and AD&D Insurance. Voluntary Life and AD&D Insurance is capped at 5x the employee’s base salary and cannot exceed $750,000. Employees also have the option to purchase Voluntary Spouse Life/AD&D and Voluntary Child Life/AD&D Insurance.
Upon first becoming eligible, Voluntary Life Insurance is guaranteed up to $150,000.00 without evidence of insurability (EOI). After first time eligibility, Voluntary Life insurance requires EOI. First time Voluntary Spouse Life Insurance is guaranteed up to $50,000.00.
Retirement Savings Plan
2025 employee contributions are capped at $23,500. Employees age 50 and older can contribute an additional $7,500 in contributions. Employees who are 60-63 can contribute an additional $11,250 in contributions. Roth contributions are allowed. The plan reserves the option to grant non-elective contributions.

Dependent Care Assistance Program
Deduct your dependent care expenses before they are taxed. With the FSA Dependent Care you’ll save money in your paycheck because deductions are tax-exempt. The maximum contribution is $5,000.00 (married; $2500 filing jointly).
Medical Spending Account
Set aside up to $3,300 tax free each year to use to pay for medically necessary expenses that are not covered by your medical insurance.
Transportation
The program is flexible and gives you the option to deduct your Parking and Transportation commuting expenses from your paycheck, pre-tax. The monthly pre-tax contribution maximum is $325.00 for each account.
Wellness
S:US’s employee wellness initiatives offer valuable resources designed to support your overall wellbeing. These wellness benefits and resources (SUS Cares) are available to all employees. These are benefits outside and unrelated to our medical plan. Some examples are:

- Discounted gym membership and meal service deliveries
Short-term Disability and Worker's Compensation
On the first day of employment, all employees become covered participants in S:US Short-term Disability and Work’s Compensation salary protection plans.

- Employee Assistance Program (EAP): Effective on the first day of employment, all employees have access to free face to face consultations, 24/7 call-center and onsite web reference guide.
- S:US honors the Federal Student Loan Forgiveness Program. The program encourages individuals to enter and continue to work full-time in non-profit sector jobs, in return for qualified student loan forgiveness.
- The SAGE Scholars Tuition Rewards program is a financial wellness benefit that offers employees Tuition Rewards Points that can be redeemed for tuition discounts for your children’s education. Children include grandchildren, nieces, nephews and godchildren.
Holidays
Sick, Vacation and Personal Days
After 4 months of continues employment (120 days), new hires can use their paid time off.
Sick Days
All permanent employees receive the equivalent of 7 incidental sick days each year, and accrue the equivalent of 5 serious illness sick days each 12 months.
At the end of each calendar year, unused incidental sick days rollover to serious illness sick time.
Vacation Days
All permanent employees receive an allotment of vacation time. The number of days is determined by part-time or full-time designation and salary tier.
A maximum of 1.5 times your annual allotment of days earned, are permitted to carry over to the next calendar year.
Personal Days
Permanent employees are granted personal days at set intervals of the calendar year. Personal days must be used by each calendar year end.
Unused personal days expire on December 31st each year, unless you are in your first year of employment.
